Valley Residential Services Addresses Lack of Affordable Rentals
There is a critical need for rental housing in the Mat-Su Valley and in the March 2024 issue of the Alaska Business magazine, Valley Residential Services (VRS) is credited with addressing the need for affordable, low-income housing in the Valley. Recognizing this need, since 2006 VRS has increased its housing capacity from 113 to 473 residential units and expects to have another 76 units added in 2024. With the generous funding assistance of the Mat-Su Health Foundation, the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and other development partnerships with the Pacific Company and Cook Inlet Housing Authority, VRS has been able to continue its mission to provide housing to people of special needs in the Mat-Su Valley.
