Thank you Mat-Su Health Foundation!

Valley Residential Services (VRS) would like to thank the Matanuska – Susitna Health Foundation for their support of the project to purchase a 2014 Toyota, Tacoma maintenance truck. The Mat-Su Health Foundation provided half the funds necessary for this purchase allowing VRS to leverage those funds and combine them with a low-interest loan from the 1st National Bank of Alaska to complete the project. This truck is a necessary upgrade to our fleet of four vehicles that the staff of VRS needs to service the 24/7 maintenance needs of the Valley Residential property residents.

VRS is a non-profit entity that provides housing to people with special needs in the Mat-Su Valley. These special needs people include individuals who have physical or mental disabilities, are low to very low income, homeless, or are seniors. This vehicle will be used in providing maintenance and repair services to some 250 people who reside in 178 residential units dispersed in 30 buildings in the Palmer, Wasilla and Houston areas. The addition of this vehicle will significantly improve the ability of the VRS maintenance staff to provide more effective service for the property needs and emergency issues of the residents of this housing. VRS deeply appreciates the support of the Matanuska-Susitna Health Foundation in making this improvement possible.
