Celebration at Garden View Apartments
On Wednesday, July 19th the tenants of Garden View Apartments and staff of Valley Residential Services held a celebration to dedicate the name change and the installation of new signage. Originally called Daybreak Apartments when it was constructed in 1987, the tenants requested and proposed their facility be called Garden View Apartments to better reflect the area in which they live and how they wanted to identify themselves.
Garden View is a 20 unit apartment residence that serves people who are experiencing mental challenges. Valley Residential Services took over the building and its management in 2004. Some of the tenants have happily resided in Garden View for many years, several for as many as 20 years!
The tenants and staff celebrated this event with a BBQ picnic and spent some enjoyable time getting familiar with new housing staff, exchanging stories and getting caught up.
