VRS Receives Mat-Su Borough Grant

Valley Residential Services has received a grant from the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Human Services Community Matching Grant Program to fund a project to provide a human services advocate to its staff. This $17,000 grant for FY14 will be used to cover the salary of a staff member to assist with the housing and related services for people with special needs who are not represented by a case worker. VRS plans to offer advice and referrals to those persons in need of housing assistance in order to get or keep their curent housing. In this way, VRS hopes to get more people housed and keep them housed.
