Phyllis Sullivan, Long Time Board Chair Retires

Long time and Board Chair since it’s inception, Phyllis Sullivan retires after 23 years of exemplary service to Valley Residential Services. She was honored by board members and VRS staff at the recent quarterly meeting in July with a commemorative personal plaque and the naming of the conference room as the “Phyllis Sullivan Conference Room”. A sign announcing this now hangs in the conference room for all to see.

In addition, Phyllis was bestowed the honorary title “Board Member Emeritus” for her many years of service and support of VRS’s mission “To provide affordable housing to the people of special needs in the Mat-Su Valley”.  A lovely (and delicious!) cake and other goodies were shared among the attendees along with many memories of the successful milestones that have occurred along the way during Phyllis’s tenure. Other business included the installation of new Board Chair, Valerie Mittelstead and new Board Vice-Chair, Russell Joyce.
